Defining Unique Terms

Glossaries are collections of definitions related to the topics contained in the main document(s).

The depth of information covered depends on the users' specific requirements.

Glossary location

For a standard print publication, we recommend placing the Glossary at the end of the document, after any Appendices and before the Index.

For an online publication, we recommend:

• including a Glossary containing all unfamiliar terminology, and
• using a popup on the first occurrence of a new term in each section of the online document.
